Had the worst possible dining experience in this restaurant last night. Although the food was mediocre, the attitude of the staff was appalling. After requesting an extra portion of chips and garlic butter we were informed that the kitchen closed at ten and we had already kept them late! The latter comment was stated by the most unprofessional manager I have ever encountered.
A main course of risotto arrived so hot that my dining companion burnt her tongue!! There is probably still steam coming off it!! We suspected it had been microwaved and to reinforce this I am certain my soggy mash had the same misfortune.
From start to finish it was clear that the staff just wanted to get cleared up and out of there. Why take bookings for 9 o clock if this is the case? I had been looking forward to this meal all day and left feeling totally let down. I will never darken the doors of this restaurant again. The proprietor needs to seriously consider employing some welcoming, well mannered staff!! Also I am not used to the sight of chefs drinking pints whilst preparing my meal!
